Modern City Train Set

My son loves playing with anything involving trains/trucks/cars. Every time we go to a daycare, museum, or his friends place where they have these kinds of train sets, he always gravitates towards it and spends a lot of time playing. So I was excited to see this full set.

It makes me genuinely happy to see the real wood pieces that all feel nice. My house is filled with so many plastic toys that it’s nice to feel something more natural feeling. On top of that that, you get so many of these quality wood (and some plastic) pieces that you can really build some fun setups. Your kid can really get creative building little cityscapes with bridges and verticality.

My son was thrilled to have his very own train set to play with. Anything that takes him away from the screen is great, and this kind of toy really helps him develop his fine motor skills and creativity.

The price seems quite reasonable considering the set is primarily real wood and you get so much. Really the only issue is that you might have a hard time getting your kid to clean it all up when their done, but we found a nice bin for him to toss it all in and he’s been good so far.

Amazing gift for a kid that feels a bit more special than most of the plastic stuff you find these days.

When I was a young boy, I would have done anything for this train set! The quality is excellent, and the options to build multiple designs ensures interest is kept.

The pack offers great value, with 96 pieces including bridges, vehicles, buildings, and more. Everything is really good quality, and I appreciate the track is compatible with other brands so you can add more even if you can't find a store with this brand.

Colours are bright and fun, making this the perfect train set gist for the age group 3-8 that the listing mentions. If you have a toddler and are looking for something fun and simple that keeps your imagination at work, this is a great set for that.

This is a good train set for a toddler to play with and be able to set up themselves. The pieces fit together well and it seems like there’s a lot of different configurations that can be made. This set is good for a small child to use their imagination and build problem solving skills to figure out how to connect the track. But it’s not too complicated and difficult to build/keep together like some of plastic car set are. The train cars connect together by magnets and they seem to stay together when the train rolls on the tracks. The dump truck and the train cars roll on the tracks easily and they can also roll on the floor without the track. There’s no weird smells, and the items seem well made and well painted. I don’t see any splinters or rough edges. I think the train tracks might get broken if they were stepped on a lot, but the set seems sturdy enough for a toddler to play with, it doesn’t seem like it would get easily broken or worn out fast.

The quality of this set is no different than you'd expect of similar sets; the only reason for four instead of five stars is that my kid got a tad frustrated/confused at their inability to build a custom track. The set only includes two pieces that allow you to connect two male or two female pieces, which as you can see from the pictures, makes it difficult to connect tracks together. But the set does include three different sample track placements that allow you to connect everything effectively. The train cars run along the track just fine and the magnets are strong enough to let you pull or push the trains along the tracks. Also, while the sets works just fine on hard surfaces or extremely low pile rugs, on regular carpet the signs, buildings, trees, and people do tend to tip over rather easily. Oh, also, some wood-products I've received from overseas have had a very peculiar (unpleasant) odor, this set did not, it smelled just fine!

My family already has a large collection of wooden trains & tracks, and this is a great addition, or an affordable first set. The wooden pieces are great (durable and fit with other brands). The brown plastic bridges are very solid, but the crane feels much flimsier. But it does work (winds the cable up and down). I like that the gray support struts have little clips/tracks that help them hug the track. Other brands we have, you need to balance the track on the support. This version should be much easier for my almost-5-year -old to build! As an experienced Brio mom, I love that this set comes with plenty of track varieties, and a good proportion of "fun stuff", bridges, tunnel, turn table, etc. those are what really fuel layout design, and keep my kids' interest. Also, it's great that the instructions come with three possible layouts to build the kit as!

I had a wooden train set like this growing up and I can't wait for my son to enjoy it as I did! This is a big, generous set that allows for many track layouts with extra fun additions like bridges, crossovers, a crane, and even scenery. The possibilities seem endless for a child's imagination to run wild.
Everything seems really high quality and fits together well. The trains stay on track decently whether pushed or pulled and the magnets work great to hold the cars together. Using the crane to pick up the magnetic shipping containers and move them from train to truck is so fun!
This is an excellent set!

My daughter was so excited to play with this set the moment it arrived! She loves building the tracks in different ways, and it’s been keeping her busy (and happy!) for hours, no joke. I can already tell this one’s going to be a favorite in our house for a long time.

I feel like the pieces are really sturdy and smooth, and easy to put together- not cheap at all. I also love that it’s more than just a simple loop — it comes with a whole little city setup, including a school, store, church, bus, crane, dog, trees, traffic signs and more, It definitely adds to the fun and makes it feel like a full play world.

It’s also compatible with other wooden train sets, which is nice to know if we ever decide to expand in the future.

Everything fits nicely back into the sturdy box it came in, so it’s easy to store when they’re done playing (for now, at least haha !). Overall, it’s a great quality set that would also make a great gift! Highly recommend!

This is a HUGE set complete with tons of fun extras. The tracks themselves are wood but this set also includes plastic bridge and tunnel sections as well as a crane. It also includes tons of vehicles, some with removable cargo, trees and buildings. My son is 4 years old and he absolutely loves this set. There are multiple different ways to configure the tracks providing endless fun and entertainment. It’s an excellent value for the cost. Will be a favorite for years to come!!

The 94pcs Modern City Wooden Train Set has been a huge hit in our household! From the moment my kids opened it, they were instantly engaged, building tracks, bridges, tunnels, and even setting up the town buildings. The set is thoughtfully designed, sturdy, and feels high-quality—perfect for energetic play.

What I love most is how versatile it is. The pieces are compatible with most other major train brands, which makes expanding the track super easy. The included crane, tunnel, and bridge add extra excitement and challenge, keeping my kids entertained for hours. It’s not just a toy; it encourages creativity, problem-solving, and imaginative storytelling.

This train set makes an incredible gift, especially around Christmas. Watching my kids play together, collaborating on building the city, is heartwarming. If you’re looking for a toy that combines fun, learning, and durability, the 94pcs Modern City Train Set is an absolute winner!

My siblings and I had wooden train sets like this when we were kids, and my own kids now also have wooden train sets like these. This set was impressive, and met all of my expectations. All of the wooden tracks and wooden pieces all felt like nice, solid wood, and all the plastic parts were equally nice and sturdy and work well. The paint and colors are all bright and feel high quality. This set had a good fun variety of track shapes and accessories to place around the track and interact with the train cars with.

Notably, we already had some Brio brand train sets, and these peices all worked well with those existing tracks. The way they connect in a puzzle-like fashion, and their height and width were identical. So if you already have train pieces like this, this extra set should fit in just right. All the trains roll well, and they hook together with their magnets just as well as our other trains. They'll roll as fast and as easily as you like.

Overall, our kids are happy with the toy as it is, and we're happy as parents because it's high quality and integrates with our existing trains.

This wooden train set provides hours of imaginative fun for children. With a variety of pieces including tracks, bridges, tunnels, and town buildings, kids can design and redesign their own city adventures. The components fit together smoothly and are compatible with other popular wooden train brands, making it easy to expand or mix with existing sets. The quality of the wood is good, and the colorful accessories add to the overall appeal. While some smaller pieces may require adult supervision for younger children, the set encourages creativity, problem-solving, and cooperative play among siblings or friends.

Pros
Wide variety of track and accessory pieces
Compatible with most other wooden train sets
Encourages creative and social play

Cons
Some pieces are small and could be lost easily
Assembly can take time for younger kids without help

This wooden train set is fantastic!! It’s much better quality than I expected for the price. The wood pieces are smooth and sturdy, and everything fits together easily, even with tracks from other major brands. My kids love building new layouts every time they play, especially using the bridge, tunnel, and working crane.

The accessories like the little buildings, people, and signs, really bring the “city” theme to life and encourage creative storytelling. It’s the kind of toy that keeps them engaged for long stretches, without screens, and feels both fun and educational in a Montessori way.

The storage box is also a nice touch for keeping all the small pieces organized. Overall, this is a great investment for imaginative play and motor skill development and it’s compatible with our existing sets, which is a big bonus. Highly recommend!

This is a well designed set that can be built into several different configurations. The wood is thick, smooth, and the corners aren't too sharp. The colored parts of the track are made of durable plastic. The orange plastic tunnel is 7 inches long and about 4 inches high (just to give an example of overall size). The 3.25 inch long cars are solid wood and attach to each other by magnets at the ends. The set comes with directions for making 3 different track set-ups, plus kids can come up with their own. I rated the set 4 stars because the track pieces don't fit together snuggly; they fit loosely and have noticeable space in the connection. It's best to play on a hard, flat surface, and not on thick carpeting. It comes neatly boxed, but I'm not sure if kids will be able to get the set back inside for storing. It's still a great set and I recommend it for kids in the 3 to 7 year age range.

94 pieces including 20+ curved and straight tracks, a sturdy wooden bridge that spans gaps, a tunnel that adds that fun for trains zipping through, a functional crane for loading cargo, colorful town buildings, and 10+ accessories like trees, signs, and road crossings. Plus, four wooden trains and people figures to populate the scene. Everything’s made from smooth, wood – no splinters, no chipping after rough play, and it feels premium without the hefty price tag. The pieces interlock intuitively, fostering ndependence; my youngest figured out basic loops solo on day one.
Setup is a dream – no batteries, no instructions needed beyond the included idea card. It’s expandable, snapping seamlessly onto our existing tracks from other brands, and the 3D cityscape encourages vertical building with stackable platforms. Safety’s top-notch: rounded edges, and sized just right to avoid choking hazards. We’ve even taken it outdoors for picnic adventures, and it holds up to grass stains with a quick wipe.

My kids absolutely love this train set! The 94 pieces include tracks, bridges, tunnels, buildings, and accessories, which makes it perfect for building a full little city. Everything is well-made, durable, and easy to snap together, even for younger kids. Actually my daughters love this a lot. You can create so many different roads, bridges, and have endless creative imaginary fun with this set!
It’s compatible with most other wooden train brands, so we were able to expand their existing set easily. This set encourages imaginative play and problem-solving, and my kids spend hours creating different layouts. I would say this is a fun toy train set to add to any home with a train fan, or even to a classroom! It comes with so many pieces and stays together really well.
It is high quality made, and has everything you need. Plus like I said you can easily expand this set as it is compatible with other sets also! Quality and durability is amazing for this price especially for all you get! Would make a great gift and addition to your kids room/playroom. They will stay busy for hours making layout after layout and just having fun!
